Fundraising
Following on from the £1050.00 raised by one of our parents Kirsty Crosby in Autism Awareness month (April) from the charity fundraiser she organised at work, her sister Ashleigh Crosby and Ashleigh’s partner Brad Brooks have since undertaken a 27 mile kayaking challenge to increase the donation, in September on Lake Ullswater in the Lake District; which they completed in 11 hours.
In addition to this a group ‘Pier to Pier’ (South Shields to Roker) challenge was completed back in July which entailed 7.4 miles being walked in 3 hours whereby Kirsty’s son Alex (aged 9) and Ashleigh Davis (aged 20) who have both benefited from the Autism Outreach Team’s facilities, led the way.
£1100.00 was raised from the Pier to Pier and Kayaking challenges, making a total contribution of £2150.00.
